First Pass Frequently Asked Questions
Enter your pickup suburb and preferred transmission type, then search. From there you can view instructor profiles, check availability, choose your booking options, and continue through the FirstPass booking and payment flow.
FirstPass currently supports 1 hour and 2 hour driving lesson bookings, depending on the options shown during booking.
If the instructor profile and booking flow show that manual lessons require your own car, you must supply a suitable manual vehicle for those lessons. Otherwise, the lesson follows the vehicle arrangement displayed on the instructor's profile and booking page.
It means the instructor is accredited to teach manual driving but does not provide a manual car. If you choose manual with that instructor, FirstPass shows a manual lessons notice and you must use your own manual car for lessons.
FirstPass learner payments are processed through Stripe checkout. Depending on eligibility, Stripe may show card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Afterpay/Clearpay, or Zip at checkout.
Yes. Learners pay upfront through the website payment flow. Booking records, purchases, and learner dashboard access are created through that successful payment flow.
Your learner profile is created after successful payment. If payment does not go through, the learner dashboard is not activated.
The latest date of birth allowed in the FirstPass learner registration form is today minus 16 years. In practice, you must be at least 16 years old to complete learner registration on the site.
Yes, but only more than 12 hours before the scheduled start time. Within 12 hours of the booking start time, FirstPass currently blocks learner cancellation and rescheduling requests.
If a scheduled booking is not completed, the instructor-side workflow may record an outcome such as Payment Waived or No Show Charged. Whether a missed booking is waived or charged depends on the outcome selected in the instructor-side workflow, and that status may appear in learner and instructor booking history.
Payment Waived means the booking was marked in the platform as not charged for that missed or not-completed outcome. No Show Charged means the booking was marked in the platform as chargeable for that missed booking outcome. Which one applies depends on the outcome selected in the instructor-side workflow for that booking.
Yes, if the selected instructor offers a driving test package. The package shown on the site is a test-day package and may include pick-up, a warm-up lesson, use of the instructor car, and drop-off, depending on the live package details shown during booking.
No. FirstPass currently allows only one active driving test package booking at a time. You must complete or cancel the active package before booking another one.
No. The FirstPass driving test package covers the package services shown on the website. Your official road test appointment with Service NSW must still be booked separately unless FirstPass explicitly states otherwise.
After successful payment, your learner account can access the dashboard where you can view bookings, booking history, purchases, and other learner account information available through the platform.
Yes. Once you have a learner account and successful payment history, you can return to your account to manage bookings and book more lessons, subject to instructor availability and the booking options currently shown on the site.
Use the instructor profile and availability tools shown during search and booking. The website displays available dates, times, and booking options based on the instructor's current profile, calendar, and service settings.
Yes. Instructor lesson pricing and any selected package pricing are shown during the booking and payment flow before checkout is completed.
